WordBrawl is a word game provided by TheGolemApps. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use WordBrawl, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Some WordBrawl features can be used without creating an account, including training.
Online features require authentication. WordBrawl uses Firebase Authentication and allows users to sign in with Google or Apple.
WordBrawl does not receive or store your Google or Apple account password.
The WordBrawl database stores the Firebase user identifier (UID) associated with the player and the nickname chosen inside the app. WordBrawl does not store in its own database the email address, name, or profile picture returned by Google or Apple.
When authenticating a request, the WordBrawl backend receives and verifies a Firebase authentication token. That token may contain additional authentication information, but WordBrawl does not copy those additional details into its own database.
Google, Apple, and Firebase Authentication may process account and authentication information as part of their own services and according to their own privacy policies.
The WordBrawl backend stores information necessary to provide online gameplay, including:
Favorites are relationships between WordBrawl players. WordBrawl does not access your phone's address book to create these relationships.
Your nickname and relevant game information may be visible to other players when you interact with them through online features.
WordBrawl uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to provide push notifications.
To manage notifications, the service may process information such as:
These data are used to deliver and manage WordBrawl notifications.
WordBrawl uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Analytics and diagnostic collection is optional.
The app asks you whether you want to enable these features, and you can change your choice later in the app settings.
When enabled, Firebase Analytics may record events relating to how WordBrawl features and gameplay are used. Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash reports and technical information needed to identify and diagnose software problems.
These services may process device or installation identifiers and technical information as described in Firebase's documentation.
WordBrawl operates its own backend and database to provide online game features. Information associated with your player profile and online games is therefore processed by WordBrawl's systems and is not handled exclusively by third-party services.
The backend uses these data to provide account functionality, online matches, player relationships, statistics, achievements, notifications, and related service features.
The service may also record technical server information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, and other technical request details. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and reliable operation of the service.
Technical server logs are retained for the time needed to perform technical analysis, diagnose problems, maintain security, and support the reliable operation of the service.
WordBrawl traffic may pass through Cloudflare, and the service also relies on an external hosting infrastructure provider. These providers may process technical information needed to deliver, protect, or host the service according to their own terms and privacy policies.
WordBrawl stores settings, preferences, and other information required for the app to operate on your device.
Removing the app from your device does not automatically delete your online WordBrawl profile.
You can delete your WordBrawl profile directly from the app using Delete Profile in the settings.
Deleting your profile removes the player profile, account associations, Favorites, notification tokens, and other data directly linked to your account.
Game activities that are shared with other players may remain in the system so that those players can continue to access their match history. In those retained records, information that identifies the deleted player is removed, replaced, or otherwise anonymized.
Deletion of a WordBrawl profile does not necessarily cause immediate deletion of every copy contained in backups or data held independently by third-party service providers.
Player profile and game data are retained while the WordBrawl account remains active.
When the user deletes the account, data directly associated with the player profile is removed as described above. Shared game records may be retained in anonymized form so that other players can continue to view their match history.
Technical server logs are retained for the time needed to perform technical analysis, diagnose problems, maintain security, and support the reliable operation of the service.
Some short-lived operational records may be removed automatically after they are no longer needed for their operational purpose.
Third-party service providers, including network and hosting providers, may apply their own retention policies to information processed by their services. Retention of provider logs, backups, and snapshots is governed by their own systems and policies.
WordBrawl uses services provided by third parties, including:
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

WordBrawl processes account and gameplay information where necessary to provide the online service requested by the user.

This section applies when advertising is enabled in WordBrawl.
WordBrawl may use Google AdMob to display advertisements.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process information such as IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, advertising information, performance information, and diagnostic data for purposes including advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.
Depending on your region and your choices, WordBrawl may display personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
Personalized advertisements may use information about previous activity or interests to influence which advertisements are shown.
Non-personalized advertisements are not selected using a user's past behavior, but they may still use contextual information and may still process identifiers or similar information for purposes such as frequency limiting and aggregated advertising reports.
Where required, WordBrawl will request advertising-related consent before the relevant processing takes place. Consent choices may be presented through a consent management interface when applicable.
WordBrawl is not directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly create WordBrawl accounts for children under 13. If we become aware that information relating to a child under 13 has been processed contrary to applicable requirements, appropriate steps will be taken.

Additional privacy requests can be made using the contact information available on the TheGolemApps website.
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to certain processing.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Some third-party service providers used by WordBrawl may process information outside your country or outside the European Economic Area. Where required, such transfers are subject to the safeguards provided by applicable data protection law.
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information processed by WordBrawl. However, no Internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when WordBrawl features or data practices change. The current version will be made available on the TheGolemApps website.
